Praise You in this Storm

Music is a big part of my life. Sometimes it's the beat that I love to hear. Sometimes it's the lyrics that touch my heart. Sometimes when I try to read my Bible and nothing seems to 'stick' in my mind about what I've ready, I turn to music. When I don't 'feel' like praising God, I turn on my praise & worship music. Remember when you were a teenager and had that special someone in your life and a new song came out that fit that relationship or your life at just that moment... I bet you can still hear a song from that era today and remember where you were or who you were with. Music touches the soul. So in saying that, you will probably be seeing more lyrics to songs on my blog because that's how I express my feelings and thoughts sometimes. It gets me back into the presence of God quicker than anything.

Although I've made choices that I know are right, that I know falls in line with God's word, the human side of me is... well... hurting. But God is faithful. The enemy is just trying to convince me that I did the wrong thing, but I cannot continue to sin and expect God to move in my life, nor will I ever be at peace. So today, I share with you my first song.

Praise You in this Storm (Casting Crowns)

I was sure by now
God you would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say “Amen”, and it’s still raining

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain“I’m with you”
And as You mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will life my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry
You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can’t find You

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy fallsI raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth
