Door of Opportunity

My best friend found out something about her son yesterday that was rather disturbing. He is 11 years old now, but in his journal from two years ago, he wrote that he would "rather be dead". Talking about being shocked and devestated. How can we as mothers NOT know when something this bad is going on that we do not see the signs? Let me just say this... there are thousands of children gone now because they held it all in and it got too much for them to bare and no one ever knew a thing, so this is in no way her fault for "not knowing". We will never know everything. He is the most compassionate, tender-hearted, sweet and loving son. So how can things be this bad for him? There are issues concerning his dad that all this goes back to (I believe), and if this doesn't wake his daddy up to reality, of what he is doing and not doing, then I don't know what can! Sons need their mothers, but they need their daddy too. Both parents play a particular role with their children that only they can give.

I do know this. He has accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and has a servant's heart. Jesus will not let him go... He has too many wonderful and beautiful plans for him.

This "Door of Opportunity" happened yesterday. She found out about this yesterday morning. As she is heading to work and starting her work day, her mind is going a thousand different directions asking "why?", "how?", "what do I do?". Funny, how God hears our prayers and hears our innermost thoughts because without her knowing, God provided an opportunity to give her son the best words she could ever give him. He called his mom from school saying he had a headache, in which she got some medicine and took it to school for him. When she got there and he came out into the hall, she hugged him, looked him in the eyes and said "I cannot live without you". He looked at his mom, his face brightened, a smile so big came across his face and he said "Really?!?" with excitement in his voice. She at the moment in time let her son know that he is love, he is wanted and he is needed here on Earth.

God has big plans for his life. He is much too loving and talented for his life to be wasted by passing thoughts and feelings.
