Christmas at Dad's
This weekend was good. We did Christmas at my dad's house on Saturday (Dec. 29th), because we were waiting for my brother and his family to come in town from Louisiana. We had a wonderful time. The boys had the best time playing with their cousins, whom they hardly ever see. Steven, my nephew, loves playing with them because he is the only boy and playing with his sisters just isn't the same. Yesterday, Dec. 30th, my brother and his family (which includes his wife, 1 son and 2 daughters) came by our house for a visit. The boys, once again, had a blast playing with their cousins. Next year, they will be back in Alabama and closer so that we can go visit more often than this once per year thing. After they left, I proceeded to take down the Christmas tree, because the boys were dieing for me to open their new "electronic basketball goal" that they got from Grandaddy and Nina for Christmas. So I'm thinking I will open it, pop it open, put it up real quick and finish putting my decorations away. NOT! No, this basketball goal took me and their dad almost 3 hours to put together. We had to put screws in every single piece of steel in that box! We quickly realized this was not a simple, small basketball goal, but a HUGE, complicated basketball goal that you find in gamerooms and Chuck E. Cheese's. It's only about 6 inches shorter than our ceiling, and they love it, even though they can't throw it high or fast enough to reach the goal! lol
